$100.00 or less-Investment-Make Money

RESEARCHER. You need just a (free) library card and notebook. Then set yourself up as a researcher. Contact organizations, schools, advertising agencies or any group that can use library research. Ask for an assigned topic. Then look it up in the card file or ask the librarian for help. Either copy down the research by hand or use a photocopying machine available in most libraries. You might also tape record information. Charge extra for this service. Charge by the hour or job. You do not do any writing on this income opportunity. You just research the topic.

A PRIVATE CONSULTANT. Put any special skill to work as the source of a special or private consultant. Many people need personal face-to-face advice on certain subjects. If you can offer specific advice and counsel on these subjects, offer your services. You need knowledge and a feeling of being sympathetic. Advertise your service in local papers. You can also draw customers by giving a lecture on your special subject. Change a tiny admission fee just to cover expenses. After-ward, offer to give private advice on that subject. You can build up a good clientele in this manner.

TRAVEL AGENT. You may need a licends for this one so ask your local county clerk. Contact various airlines, railroad companies, ship companies for travel folders, circulars and posters.
Have a few posters placed in store windows and promise the owner a discount on his/her travels in return.

On each posted folder or circular, paste your name and telephone as the travel agent. You may also arrange to work with one large shipline or airline on an exclusive basis. They may train you for free. You will be paid a commission for each trip you arrange. Since most people are busy during the week, they'll be glad to come to you on Saturdays, evenings and weekends. http://lindagjehoich.blogspot.com,http//www.orble.com/Winning, http://listening4u.blogspot.com/

Businesses under $100.00

SELLING ANTIQUES. Try to apecialize in one type of antique to make it easier to find customers. You could try antique guns, antique dishes, antique objects, painting, silverware, books, etc.

At a good antique shop, spend about $50.00 on a few of these items. Then advertise in antique magazines. You'll find an assortment of these in your local library.

If you specialize it means that once you sell a customer an antique spoon (for example), you can tell customers you have other spoons available and that you can be consulted concerning further purchases.

RECORDING SERVICE. Many people will want a special event recorded--either on tape or record or both, just as they would want to have pictures taken. Your income opportunity calls for having an economical recorder. Also, some customers will want certain radio or television programs on tape or record and you can do it for them, too. There are endless possibilities. For the cost of a recording machine, you can make steady money.

FARMING FOR INCOME. Any spare ground in your back yard can bring in some profit and income. Do local people want special types of home grown fruits, vegetables, and grains? Then buy the seeds at a nearby gardening outlet. Ask for planting advice from your county agricultural representative. Plant crops calling for little effort. Just a few hours a week devoted to such backyard farming can bring you spare time income. If organic produce is wanted, you could charge a bit extra. Just use organic fertilizers. Customers will eagerly buy up all that you grow.  http://lindagjehoich.blogspot.com,http//www.orble.com/Winning,http://listening4u.blogspot.com

You Are A Winner--You and Money

Local Salesperson. Become a commission salesperson for any large company in your vicinity. Any product or service can be sold locally on a personal calls or b y leads provided by this company.

BUSINESSES YOU CAN START FOR UNDER $100.00

For some spare cash,  for about $100.00, you can take advantage of some very good money-making opportunities. Most of these opportunities can be followed right in your own neighborhood. You may need to purchase some equipment so seek out good pawn shops or used machinery dealers. Try renting any needed equipment with an option to pay at a later date. (Some of these opportunities require no equipment but will call for expenditures of other sorts.)

PRODUCE PLAYS. Act as a producer to clubs or organizations who want to put on a play for fund raising. Start out by asking these clubs about their needs and how much they want to pay for the complete package. Then arrange for space either at a school, church or available meeting hall. Any locale with a large space for a stage and proper lighting is satisfactory.
Ask your library about play catalogues that are available. Many plays are royalty-free. You pay only a flat charge per script. Select plays requiring no unusual costumes to help reduce cost.
As a producer you have to get everything together. The cast is usually made up of members of the organization in charge. You'll have to get everything in order, attend rehearsals, see to it that the show is put on according to schedule. Some knowledge is needed for this type of income opportunity but you can get it from any book. You'll learn (and earn) as you go along.

Money Opportunities

PART-TIME TEACHING.  You have some skill. Is it language, bookkeeping, office work,--even cooking or decorating? Any skill means you can earn money by teaching a few people in your home. Private lessons are informal and people feel they are more personalized. You could teach sewing, stream-lined housekeeping or anything else in which you have some knowledge.

HOME BEAUTICIAN. If you're reasonably good with makeup and hairdressing, do this work in your home. Many women will pay more than they do at a beauty salon because they like a personalized and individualized service. You will need some beauty lotions, and hair care products.

FREE-LANCE NEWS CORRESPONDENT. Most state capital newspapers want a local on-the-spot correspondent. Write and ask to be taken on as a "stringer" for a piecework fee. Then, contact local associates, schools, clubs, organizations, corporations. Ask to be put on the mailing list for their press releases. Rewrite them with a personal touch and send to your paper. You could suggest a "gossip" column on a regular basis. Many publicity-seeking people will phone you.

PRICE SHOPPING.  Many stores want comparison shopping data. They'll pay you to visit some one or two dozen local stores and prepare a price list of items and report back to them. They'll pay you on a per diem basis.

Make Money--No Investment

No need to spend any money to start these income opportunities. You can invest as much time as you desire. Bear in mind that the more time you put into these no investment opportunities, the more profits you will be likely to make.

FUND RAISING. Read up on fund raising at your local library. List a hundred or more ideas on how to raise cash. Then contact local organizations, associations, religious groups, charitable organizations. (They are listed in your local Yellow Pages.) Call or visit the treasurer or person in charge of each of these groups. Offer your services as a fund raising consultant. Ask for their needs. Then say you will prepare a fund raising package tailored exclusively for them, for a flat fee.

You will be paid for ideas and you will find them in many books on the subject. Do the research and get paid for it.

WEIGHT CONTROL GROUP. You needn't be fat to do this. (It helps if you were formerly fat and can serve as a good example.) Prepare material to read or demonstrate. Gather fat folks who need this type of group therapy to lose pounds and slim down. Read them book reviews, discuss the latest facts on overweight, prepare low-calorie recipes that they can copy down. Charge per session. Arrange weekly meetings. You could also sell reducing books which are available at wholesale from publishers.

Oils and Fats -- Meats and Butter,Margarines, and Spread

You need some fats in your diet in order to enjoy good health. Fats help your body assmilate:
          * Vitamins A, D, E, and K.
          * They help keep your skin youthful and healthy.
          * They give you "staying power" and keep you from getting hungry right after eating a meal.
But, as we noted earlier, saturated "hard" fats raise your blood cholesterol level and increase the risk of heart disease. What you must do, therefore, is to rely as much as possible on polyunsaturated fats to provide the fat your body needs.
You'll find polyunsaturated fats in most liquid vegetable oils, including sunflower, safflower, corn and soybean oils. Olive oil and peanut oils are not as high in polyunsaturates.

                                                           Meats
Beef, pork, lamb and processed meats are high in saturated fats, but chicken (without the skin) and fish are low in saturated fats. You can improve your health significantly by substituting chicken and fish for red meat at dinner twice a week.

                                                Spreads,  Butter, Margarines
Butter is an animal fat, and that means it's high in saturated fats. It will raise your blood cholesterol level.
Not all margarines are alike. Some will help lower blood cholesterol more than others. Try to find a margarine that has at least twice as much polyunsaturated fat as saturated fat. Read the nutrition label on the package.
Spreads such as Smart Balance have been around awhile now. But many people think they are new "kid" on the block.  I started using Smart Balance products (mayonnaise, peanut butter, etc) right after they first joined the market. I have to admit they are good products, and they will let you print coupons.
Smart Balance is a buttery spread that is an excellent source of Omega-3. It is a patented blend of oils that have no hydrogenated oils--0g Trans fats. It is an excellent source of Omega-3 ALA (320mg per serving, (20% DV)). It is also a good source of Vitamins D, B6, and B12.
To me it's like the icing on the cake, I can cook with it, bake with it and spread it on hot toast.       .

How you can make Money from Home

TOYS. While Christmas is the big buying season for toys through the mail, don't over look birthdays and other special holidays. This is a year-yround business. Advertise one toy in a magazine catering to parents (or new parents). Then include a circular or small catalogue with shipment offering other toys.

RELIGIOUS OBJECTS. Try to use the angle that you are specializing in religious novelties and objects. These can include desk sets, medals, books, garments, pins, etc. Wholesalers can give you packaged items ready for shipment or you can do your own shipping. Advertise in religious or church publications. Sell one item at a low cost. Then ship it with a catalogue of other religious objects available.

PHOTOSTAMPS. This is a fast-moving mail order item that will appeal to everybody. Advertise in Sunday supplements or classified sections of papers and magazines. People mail you photographs. You have to arrange for special photoprinters to put them on gummed and perforated postage stamp sized stickers. (Find these photoprints in the Yellow Pages, usually under photostamps.) They're quick and easy to prepare and ship.

APPLIANCES. Decide that you will compete with local stores by offering brand name appliances at a much lower cost. It is important to charge less since people will feel it is easier and better to go to a local store. Any appliance that can be packaged and shipped can be sold through the mail.
You can get discontinued (but brand new) models for a much lower wholesale cost and therefore sell it for a discount. Sell one item through any advertisement. Slowly build up more and more items to be sold. Drop shipment is wise here, unless you can stock a lot of merchandise.

WIGS. For men and women. Locally, they can cost up to $300.00 or more. Through the mail, you can sell a good quality wig for as low as $10.00 or $20.00. Manufacturers can package wigs. Customers order according to style number and color that you advertise. (An illustration is needed and this can be supplied by manufacturers). You can also sell hair care supplies and wig style booklets and wig cleaning items.

PERSONAL HOROSCOPES. Astrology is very popular. A personalized horoscope for about $3.00 or even $5.00 or perhaps $10.00 can be prepared if you read up on this subject and become familiar with the zodiac. Your library has many books and magazines you can read for free. Advertise for readers to send in their birthdays. Then look up the proper sign in the astrology book and prepare encouraging advise. Feature success, money, romance in your personal horoscope.
You'll find people coming to you again and again for revised and updated horoscopes.
TIP: Include a little circualr headlined, Astrology Can Help Your Problem." Then write that for $2.00 per question, you will help solve the problem, based on astrological research. This can bring in additional money.

AUTO SUPPLIES. Not to be confused with hot rods, you offer a variety of different supplies. Emphasize the novelties, the gimmicks, the little gadgets that can make a driver feel he or she has something different for his or her automobile. Mail to auto owners (a list is available at any mailing list broker). If you have supplies or novelities that will be suitable to a specific auto make, you'll reap big profits. Do a mailing to owners of that particular auto and offer supplies that can be used only for that make. Arrange for drop shipment if you lack storage space.

Spot the latest trends and fads and cater to them through mail order income opportunities. Read daily newspapers, gossip columns. Read a variety of different magazines (available free at your library) to spot any trade or profession that will need any special items that can be sold through the mail.
Just as it is a never-ending thrill for you to receive money through the mails, so it is always exciting for someone to receive a package through the mails. Everyone gains...especially yourself!!

Mail Order

TAPES, RECORDS, CASSETTES. This is a booming field. Nearly everyone, all ages, owns an audio unit. Use the gimmick that you have something different, not usually available at local stores. Try "oldies" or discontinued or unpopular items that you can call "little known" or "new discoveries" or any slogan that will catch the eye.

CLOTHING. Yes, people like to buy mail order clothing. You can arrange for drop shipments from any wholesaler or you can buy packaged items ready for your own shipment. Select clothes not usually found in local stores. Features the unsual type of wearing apparel that will attract mail order buyers who look for different styles that will make them stand out.

GIFTS. Many gift wholesalers have catalogues upon which you put your own imprint. These are popular during the holidays but can also be used for any special occasion. Your catalogue should offer a variety of gifts for all types of small and big celebrations. Use the angle that you have gifts for just about any occasion and will ship them to any name and address on a supplied mailing list. Try to build up a following as the "gift person" who can be relied upon for just about any occasion...even upon short notice, to come up with a gift.

OFFICE SUPPLIES. Businesses and professional people like to look through a catalogue that offers a variety of different office supplies. It's a "one stop" shopping idea that can save them time. Try a mailing to offices or executives showing a variety of items. Contact any office supply wholesaler and arrange for drop-shipment. Also include items for personal use such as jewelry.

PERFUME. This is a booming market. Women love to buy perfume through the mail because they have the feeling it cannot be obtained at local stores. It can also be sold at a lower price. Also add on scented soaps and bath powders and some other cosmetics. Use an exotic name for your line if you want to use a private label.

Truth in Thinking: Introduction to Business-How it Works

Truth in Thinking: Introduction to Business-How it Works: " If you are an average person, you can now make extra money with one simple investment-your time. There are ov..."

Introduction to Business-How it Works

If you are an average person, you can now make extra money with one simple investment-your time.  There are over one hundred different spare-time (even full-time) money making opportunities that require only a small time investment. Yet, they can bring you a large sum of profit.

Some of the opportunities will call for as little effort as picking up a telephone or holding and using a pencil. The work may be effortless but it calls for sincerity, honesty, and reliability. It may feel as if you are getting something for nothing, but you are investing your time. You should be compensated for your efforts, no matter how seemingly slight.

Start out by telephoning your local County Clerk (look in the telephone book) and ask if there are any specific laws about operating a one-person home-based business. Because laws are different from state to state, you need to find out if any regulations apply in your own town:
Meanwhile, here are three ways to set up your own home-based business.
1. THE SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP
Very easy to set up. Ask your local County Clerk where to obtain the forms which you can easily fill out yourself. File one set with your County Clerk for a small fee. File another copy of the form with your bank and now you will have a checking account under any trade or assumed name you select.
As a sole proprietor, you are fully responsible for any debts incurred in your business. If your business should fail, you are required to fulfill all obligations out of your pocket. All profits you make are subject to taxes as personal income.

2. THE PARTNERSHIP
This arrangement is used if you have a partner in your home-based business. Ask your local County Clerk for the required forms to file. Do it at the very start to avoid later disagreements. On a sheet of paper, write down the full name of the venture, how much money each of you will invest, the obligation of each, how you will share the profits, and what are the conditions if either of you should want to leave or sell out the share in the venture. By writing all this down in the beginning, you will avoid problems at a later date.

3. THE CORPORATION
You may want to set up a corporation. As owner of the corporation you cannot be held personally responsible for any of the company's debts. A corporation is considered a seperate legal "person" in itself. You usually need the help of an attorney for creating a corporation. A corporation is helpful if you have more involved business deals and you require the umbrella-like safety of a separate entity. You may be cautious with your own monies and prefer a corporation to take the risk. Since a corporation is a seperate legal "person," it is taxed separately.
Now that you are prepared, you are ready to enter into the world of many income opportunities. Good Luck!

HOISERY AND SOCKS. Offer a variety of styles and colors and qualities to people of all ages. Use the angle that these are products not locally available. The exclusive angle is always popular but first verify that this is true. Perhaps a manufacturer will give you exclusive styles and designs (usually discontinued models from years back). Be sure to request correct size with coupon orders from ads placed in any family reading publication.

Use Mail Order For Antiques

Yes, small items or whatever can be shipped and will be wanted by antique collectors who cannot get them locally. Look through home decorating periodicals in your library. Ask to act as an agent for some large wholesalers who advertise in these pages. Many will even give you catalogues and order blanks with space for your rubber stamp imprint. Find customers through small ads in your local paper. Start out by offering one antique item that is drop shipped. That is, you take the order, send your label to the manufacturer who ships it directly to the customer.

Cosmetics

COSMETICS. Yes, women can buy cosmetics at any store but there is a feeling of being something special if they can buy a private label brand through the mails. Try a mailing for a shampoo, face cream, beauty product and emphasize that this special private label brand is not available in stores but only to those who receive "this letter." This offers a special appeal and will bring you many orders. Increase your business by eventually offering complete beauty kits created for special skin types and requirements. Again, when sending out any product, include a list or catalogue of other items offered, plus an order blank.

Money in your mail box--Food Supplements

FOOD SUPPLEMENTS. Contact any pharmaceutical house for private label brands. Your own label and brand name goes on the product. A small advertisement in a family or fraternal magazine listing a few of the supplements will bring in results. Try classified advertising, too. When mailing the supplement, include a little catalogue of your other products with an order blank. You could also do mailings to buyers of food supplements. Lists are available from brokers at little cost.

Money--Food From Home

TAKE OUT FOOD. Many people dislike restaurant food and want home cooked meals. Offer to cook up a warm and have it delivered at an agreed upon hour. Pickups can be made, too. Cook special diets, too. If required, such as low salt, low sugar, low fat, low carbohydrates, etc.
WEDDING SPECIALIST. Do extensive reading on wedding etiquette in your local library. Then contact bridal gown makers, cattering houses, religious groups and inform them that you will prepare a complete wedding from start to finish. You'll have to leave your home, but you may want to have customers come to  you for arrangements.
BOX LUNCHES MADE-TO-ORDER. Regular workers will pay to have individually ordered box lunches prepared for them, ready to be picked up on their way to work. Many people cannot make their own in the morning, and this is where you come in. Prepare lunches according to their specifications.
These are some income opportunities for people which will bring you as much money as you wish, depending upon the amount of invested time. You need little or no special knowledge for most of these. You make little or no investment here.

You Can Make Money From Home

ANTIQUE SHOPPING. Make money out of the develpoing and ever-growing antique boom. At junk shops, rummage sales (even the city dump) or at little out of the way stores, buy all sorts of odds and ends at low prices that can be made to look like antiques. Polish up. Put price tags on each one. Set up antiques on a table in your parlor. Sell to friends, neighbors, even local decorating shops as well as to interior decorators.
PET HOTEL. Offer to "board" pets of vacationing neighbors, others. You'll need about ten kennels... one for each pet, unless you can accommodate more. Add in cost of food. You'll need to take them daily airing, exercise. You'll need to do cleaning, too. This "hotel for pets" idea can be quite good.
CAT SITTING SERVICE. Cats are very domesticated, household creatures. Tell vicationing neighbors and friends uou'll come in daily to clean up and feed their cats. Or, you can board cats in your home but they may scratch up more than it is worth. Don't forget to add in cost of food, unless customers provide their own.
PLANT SITTING SERVICE. Agree to water or care for plants of vacationing neighbors. You MUST get written instructions on how much to water each specific plant. If special care is needed, get this in writing, too. It's important to the plants health.
STORAGE ROOM. Turn a spare attic, basement or garage or unused room into money. Use it for storage. Local firms, many professionals, want low-cost storage rooms and will welcome your availiability.

Truth in Thinking: Make Money from Home

Make Money from Home

TOY REPAIRS.  Most women know how to mend dolls or other toys. Some skill is required but few tools. Offer to repair whatever toys are broken if you can do so. Or specialiazing only in dolls. Charge less than half of the original price of the toy.
RE-WEAVING. You need skill with a needle and/or machine. So-called "invisible re-weaving" will bring many customers to your home to repair burns and holes in fabrics of all sorts. Tailor shops can use your services.
SIMPLE MENDING. Handy with a needle, thread with or without a sewing machine? Then offer a mending service. This is different than offering to sew holes in everyday people's garments. Instead, you contact doctors, hotels, hospitals, restaurants and just about everywhere else that a uniform is worn. Offer to do mending for a flat fee-- or a small charge per piece. Large companies with lots of uniformed workers are your best sources of income opportunities.
LAWN MOWING. You'll have to go out of your home... but this is profitable. Either buy or rent a power mower. Any house with a lawn is a potential customer. Office buildings or businesses with lawns are very good sources since these professionals usually don't want to mow their lawns. Go door to door, leave business cards offering your services and available hours.
NECKTIES, KERCHIEFS. Custom-made, this is a little known, "secret" home-based business that is desperate for workers. Make neckties and kerchiefs to order. Provide your own material (available for pennies or even for free if you pick it up at your local textile outfits) or customers bring their own cloth. You need just one necktie or kerchief pattern. Often, an exclusive pattern which no one else has will bring a high price.

Truth in Thinking: Money

Truth in Thinking: Money: " SELLING BOOKS. Look up wholesalersers in Publishers Weekly. ( available at public libraries) to see who has unsold ..."

Money

SELLING BOOKS. Look up wholesalersers in Publishers Weekly. ( available at public libraries) to see who has unsold books (known as remainders in the industry) for sale at a fraction of their original cost. Request a catalogue. Prepare a one-page circular of a wide selection of books to appeal to as many tastes as possible, at a low price that is still profitable for you.
Often a $10.00 list price book can be bought for 50 cents and re-sold for $5.00. Use the angle of "books for gifts" and special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas. Offer to giftwrap for $1.00 extra.
FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS. Some ability is required for this one. Sharpen your skills by seeing how others do them in magazines and books, available at your library. Catering services, interior decorators, houses of worship, hospitals and others are good sources of business. Offer your services as a floral arranger to florist shops, too. This is a service that is in demand year round.
CUSTOM MADE CLOTHING. You need to be good with needle, thread, and sewing machine. Call yourself a "dressmaker" or "private tailor." Use the angle that you can sew anything for anybody. Many people like something designed exclusively for them and will pay for this.
If you can sew wedding garments, this is a steady business. Contact organizations, churches, caters, lodges, auxiliaries. Most customers will bring their own cloth or else prepare a book of swatches and you help them select at a markup price.
HOME REPAIRS. Many women have this skill and are welcome in homes occupied by women. If you can repair household appliances, ask local hardwear stores if you can post a sign in their windows. Arrange to buy their supplies. You might give the storekeeper a percentage of the fee you receive from his/her recommendations.
COOKING LESSONS. Specialized or ethnic cooking is always popular. Or a special type of dish such as cakes, stews, omlets, casserole can be taught to people. Hold a cooking class in your own kitchen. Either one session for $10.00 per person (they get to eat some of the food) or hold a series of sessions for about $5.00 each. If food costs are too high, then just offer taste samples of what is done. Or, specify that if they want a goodly amount of the cooked food, the fee is $2.00 more and this is half profit, too.

Make Money from Home

HOME BOOKKEEPING SERVICE. You need to know basics of bookkeeping. Try small one-person businesses such as doctors, dentists. You could also offer the service to accountants who need low-cost home working bookkeeoers. Use the sales angle that you're much more economical since you charge per job and not a weekly salary.
CONSULTANT SREVICE. What special knowledge do you have? Are you a retired businessperson? Then become a consultant to newcomers in the field or established ones who seek professional and experienced advice, cook, make meals, sew dresses? Do you want to show others how to do this? You do not do this work. You show others how to do it.
Ask customers to come to your home. Devote a full day to a talk, a discussion group, any demonstrations, etc. Charge by the day. But you should have some good working and talking knowledge and expertise in your particular topic in order to speak well.
GHOSTWRITING. If you can write an interesting letter, you can do ghostwriting. Offer a speechwriting service to lodges, clubs, unions, political headquarters, fraternal organizations. Get a subject assigned, then research it in the library and write a short speech...do it as if you're talking to someone. Most clients will give you facts and pay you to put them in an acceptable form. If you must do more research, ask for additional money. Charge a flat fee per page or per minute.
RESEARCH. All you need is a library card for this one. If you have an encyclopedia at home, that makes it easier, although you can get one at the library. Students, professionals, public officials, even teachers, often need such research. So do publishers.
When given a subject to research, look it up in the library. Ask the reader's advisor for help. (This is free, too!) Photocopy as much as possible. Add this to your fees. Either rewrite it or present it all to your client. You've done the legwork and this is the major part of the job.
INCOME TAX SERVICE. If you're good with figures know how to prepare a tax form, this is for you. It may be seasonal work (the first four months of the year) or year-round, depending upon the client. Offer your services to stores, small organizations, small businesses. Everone has to pay tax and forms must be filled out. Charge per form.

Money-Making opportunities

Here are many types of income opportunities you can work right from your home. They are simple and not too well known. But they can give you big profits for little effort. Some of these opportunities require skills but these skills are so commonplace, they should be no problem to most people. Start out with effort and sincerity and the rest will fall into place.
FLOOR WAXING SERVICE. Nearly all small stores, offices, even apartments, homes, hotels, meeting halls-and any building with a floor-can use a floor polishing and waxing service. You need not do this work yourself. For a small sum, rent the equipment. Hire workers from the State Employment Office on an hourly rate. Then call local offices, stores, restaurants, etc. (Find them listed in the Yellow Pages of your telephone book.)  Offer to polish or wax (or both) their floors just one day per month for a flat fee. Include rental rates in your fee.
Do  this on a contract fee. Tip: Contact real estate offices. Ask to do this service through them for the buildings they either manage or own them. Often, one real estate company can give you plenty of work.
HOME TYPING SERVICE. You'll need a typewriter, paper, and ink for this service. Charge from 50 cents to $1.00 a page, depending upon the condition of work to be typed. If in longhand or heavily edited, more is required. Write or telephone attorneys, publicity people, writers, publishing companies, literary agents, etc. Lists are found in the Yellwo Pages. You might insert a small advertisement in such publications as Writers Digest or Publishers Weekly. See copies at your local library.
PHOTOCOPYING SERVICE. You may want to rent or purchase an inexpensive machine. Prices are low. Ask local stores if, as a courtesy, they'll let you insert a circular on the window. Offer to do free photocopying for some of their work in return. Post circulars in fraternal and social organization bulletin boards. Tyr college bulletin boards. Many professionals use such a service but do not nees to acquire a machine. Offer free pickup and delivery for orders over $5.00.

Truth in Thinking: Day 2

Truth in Thinking: Day 2: " &n..."

Day 2

You have helped me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me....
You have covered me in my mother's womb.
                                  Psalm 139:5-13
Do you remember your first gardening experience? I remember. Even now, the memory is so vivid that I can almost smell the early spring lilacs in bloom. I was just a child as I followed my mother into the freshly tilled garden. Mom was planting seeds--lettuce, radishes,peas--the first planting of our early spring vegetables. My job was to follow Mom along the newly formed garden rows to pat, pat, pat a bit of soil over the seeds she gently placed into the straight, shallow line formed by the garden hoe.
Pat, pat, pat, I followed along, gently and carefully covering up the seeds to protect them from harm. I took my job very seriously, and I enjoyed it immensely.
God takes joy in His gardening, too. When He first decided to "plant" you-create you--He began His task with joy. Read this once more.
Can you picture God at work? Can you see His gentle, loving hand protecting and cradling you? Pat, pat, pat. God covered you with His hand while you grew inside your mother's womb. The Lord of life gave you life. And all the while, He delighted in you--His wonderful creation.

Read Psalm 139 in it's entierty, and you'll note how important you are to your  Creator, how significant and loved you've always been--from before you breathed your first breath until now, and on into forever. See, too how your holy Father God stooped down to protect, lead, and  forgive you in Jesus. Plant this image in your heart today: God, the gardener of all that has lived and is living, loved you before  your beginning and loves you still.
Prayer suggestion: Try writing your own song (psalm) praise to your Lord. Then humbly thank Him for His everlasting love. Pray that you understand and accept His love in a deeper and more meaningful way today.<>  God's Garden

Truth in Thinking: Use Your Landline to Make Money.

Truth in Thinking: Use Your Landline to Make Money.: " Put your telephone to good use with these income creating opportunities. HOME DICTATI..."

Use Your Landline to Make Money.

Put your telephone to good use with these income creating opportunities.
HOME DICTATION SERVICE. Take dictation right over your telephone. You do not need to know shorthand. Install a tape recording device. Then you type up the letter or message and arrange for the pickup or have it delivered for a little extra cost. Customers can be found amoung any businessperson group or profession. Charge a flat fee per page.
MESSAGE RELAY SERVICE. Let business people as well as others list your telephone as their own. Take messages. The business-person then calls you for these messages. No special equipment needed. Charge by the month.
FRIENDLY TELEPHONE CALLER. Arrange to call retired people, invalids, shut-ins and others at specified times during the day that they request. Chat and gossip with them and be friendly toward any of their problems. Offer any advice and help that you would offer a friend. If your client does not answer upon the agreed time, wait thirty minutes and call again. If still no reply, contact the nearest relative.
Your clients will need to give you phone numbers of people to call if they don't answer. The only cost here is for advertisements in the classified section of your local paper. Your city may allow unlimited calls within your vicinity so you have no extra expense. Even if you do, it is still profitable. Charge $10.00 to 15.00 per month. If you have just 10 clients, it is a nice little income. It's a friendly one too.
TELEPHONE SURVEYS. Look in the Yellow Pages under Opinion Research or Motivational Research. Contract them and offer to do telephone surveys "at home." These companies tell you who to call, what to ask, what to write down and how to relay data to them. Charge the companies involved an agreed-upon rate, in advance; either per call or per week.
BABY SETTING SERVICE. That's rightt, this is a service which means you do not do baby sitting yourself (unless you want the extra cash0 but job out the assignments to teens. Insert ads in local papers. Send notices to churches, clubs, organizations or wherever you have a bulletin board. When calls come in, relay the assignment to a sitter.
Payments are made directly to you. Deduct your commission, give the balance to the sitter. If your sitter is trustworthy, she/he can collect the payment and give you your commission. This income opportunity is done without leaving your home.
CAR POOL SERVICE. You act as a "finder" by grouping people together for a car pool going to specific destinations. Advertise for those seeking a car pool. Set up the rates. Group the people together. Charge each rider a flat "finder's fee' for getting him or her into the car pool. Get this in advance. You can set up many car pools right from your home with the use of your telephone.
TELEPHONE RESEARCH. Yes, do it by ear. Many companies want research facts but can't pay steady salaries for telephoneers. This is where you come in. You'll telephone executives (they supply you with sources and contacts), get the requested facts and write it all down, or tape record it. Often, you'll be given a questionaire. Yoy ask questions on the phone and write down the facts. Charge a flat fee per call.
WAKE UP SERVICE. You become an alarm clock with a human touch. Wake up customers whenever requested. Some will want it done daily. (Sound sleepers can't respond to an alarm clock but seem to awaken to a telephone ring.)  Keep ringing until uour customers wake up. Charge by the call or a flat monthly fee for those who want it daily. You may have to adjust your own hours for sleeping when you have no calls to make.
FRIENDLY REMINDER SERVICE. Many people forget important dates such as anniversaries, birthdays, special events--even forthcoming appointments. They'll gladly pay for someone who will call and remind them of the impending occasion. Just put the name and telephone number of your customer on a piece of paper, then write down the exact date of the occassion. Plan to call a day or two in advance or whenever he/she requests it. Suggestion: If there is a reminder about a gift-giving occassion, offer to do the buying and delivering of the gift. It means a little extra money for you, although you'll have to leave hometo do it. But it's a lot of fun.
ORDER TAKING. Ever see advertisements by stores that are closed weekends or certain days? Readers would order on those weekends if anyone would take their orders. Stores usually won't pay staff to wait in the store or office on a weekend or holiday. So contact these stores and tell them you're ready to take their orders. They'll also supply you with special forms and order blanks.
ANSWERING SERVICE. This is more personalized than a hooked up or mechanical device. Tell business people that for a specificfee, they can list your telephone number on stationary, cards, circulars, etc., with the imprint. "If no answer, call..." Take messages for them. Your clients call you regularly for these messages. Great income opportunity for house-bound people.
Your telephone can bring you good income and enjoyment, right in the privacy of your home. All you need is a pleasant voice. Then you'll make a lovely profit.

The 12 Simple Rules For Being Successful

No matter how small your opportunity and no matter how little time you invest, you will need some basic necessities. Most folks already have them. These include:
A listed telepone so customers can reach you. In your home, you also need a small space, just enough to contain a desk (or a plain table) and a chair, some paper and pencils. It should be a place as free from distractions as possible, so you can concentrate on your activities.

Stationery. You will command respect if you have printed calling cards and letterheads. The cost is very small. Use these calling cards for every personal contact you make. Use letterheads for every letter you write, including bills. Both should boldly proclaim the purpose of your business. Be proud of your service. Use very large type. You register a good impression this way.
Maintain Simple Records. Keep a set of  neat records and files. Any local stationary store has simple account books that are easy to maintain. Write down your income and expenses. This tells you whether you are reaching your goals. Also, keep a list of customers, their addresses and telephone numbers . If necessary, keep in touch with them on a regular basis.
MONEY-MAKING WORDS. Specialists have discovered that there are 12 words that can draw money, more so than other words. Use them as frequently as you can. Use them when trying to sell your service to customers. Use them when you describe your services in literature. You might also try to use them in your printed stationary or calling cards. Proper use of these 12 magic money-getting words will help give you more and more profits, almost from the start.
     1.  GUARANTEE. This word carries a lot of power. You tell your customer that there is no risk at all. But be careful. Specify how long your guarantee applies and for what conditions. And be sure you can fulfill your guarantee.
     2.  MONEY.  Yes, the sale is half-made when you tell your customer that he/she can save  money through your service or product. Spell this out clearly and honestly.
     3.  SAVE. Always tell your customer that your service or product will save them time or money or both.
     4.  PROVEN.  If you offer a guarantee, try to say your service or product is proven to your customer. Back up your statement with facts. Remember that honesty is essential in all that you say or do. If you offer proven service, back up your promise.
     5.  EASY.  Most folks want convenience and simplicity. Tell how easy your service will make it for them. Everyone will pay for the luxury of having something done in a way that is both easy and convenient.
     6.  YOU. This word stimulates the person and makes them feel special. Using you in selling(both talk and print) breaks away barriers and is friendly and personal as a handshake and a smile.(Use these to.)
     7. LOVE. Everyone wants this in one way or another. Your product should have some semblance of love, even if only to think product and use it. People will respond very well to the appearance of this word in your brochure or poster.
     8. NEW. It's thrilling to buy or use a new substance. Many will pay for this priviledge if it is new to them or their neighborhood.
     9. SAFETY. This touches home base. Try to feature an element of safety (which includes security) with your product or service. It creates a healthy buying environment for many insecure folks (and aren't we all , in one way or another?) and builds your profits.
     10. RESULTS. In another word, benefits. Just explain the benefical results of your service as they apply to the customer and more profits will build up.
     11. DISCOVERY. Something new has been discovered and most folks want to get in while there is still time. Use the angle that your service is a discovery... something new...
     12.  HEALTH. If your service can make your customer look and feel healthy, it is a sure seller. Consider all aspects of health involving your service and play them up.

Many of the income opportunities can be followed without much selling. But you will be able to make more profits and quicker, too, if you use a little selling. Be natural and believe in your product.

Truth in Thinking: Warts

Truth in Thinking: Warts: " &n..."

Warts

The bumpy road to smooth skin
Don't jump to any conclusion about frogs and toads. The real cause of warts in people is the human papillomavirus. Coming in more than 60 varities, the papillomavirus is spread on the surface of the skin- either from person to person or from contact with an object that an infected person has touched. You can have the virus without and warts. Scientists are unsure why the virus touches off some skin, while other people seem unaffected by it. For some reason, kids get warts more often than adults do.
Different viruses cause different kinds of warts. The common wart, which appears on the hands and elbows, had a rough surface. The flat wart is smooth. It can show up in clusters wherever people shave, such as a woman's legs or a man's face. Then there is  the planter wart, which hangs out on the feet and can get painful as it rubs against a shoe.
Time is the best cure, most warts go away on their own within two years. Eventually your body immune system will get rid of warts. If a year or two seems too long to live with warts, try the following: smear on some Aspirin.
Nothing works over night, patience is the key. over-the-counter wart remedies such as Compound W contain varying concentrations of  salicylic acid- the main ingredient in aspirin. The higher the concentratiion, the better. Unless the wart is near the eyes or mouth or anywhere on the face of a child, you should be very careful  , because these products can cause blisters and ulcerations.
Apply the salicylic acid remedy every night until the wart goes away. Then keep applying it for a week afterward for good measure.
Or you can give the wart a bath: Soak the wart in warm water for 10 minutes. The soaking will moisten the wart and make it easier for the over-the-counter preparation to reach the virus. Repeat soaking the wart and applying the salicylic acid remedy everyday for six to eight weeks.
Watch the Nerve  warts are extremely sensitive to the body's immune system- and the immune system is closely tied to a person's feelings, teenagers under stress often get warts on their hands. The warts will disappear when the stress goes away.

Truth in Thinking: Miracles- Part 4

Miracles- Part 4

Three distinct flashes of lightening pierced the sky. Alicia, a believer-in-depth, said "Oh, thank you, Lord!" You're working a miracle!" She had no doubt. She believed. And I wonder, sometimes, what the good God thinks in His heart when He sees a human being in dire trouble believing in a miracle. That must be a wonderous happening.
The wind died down. The rain ceased. There was a great calm. This little family clung to the branches all through the darkness of night. And when dawn came, the waters had receded so that they could climb down and wade to a place of safety. They were suffering from shock, but kind hands ministered to them. And Alicia, eight days later, experienced another miracle-the miracle of birth-a healthy little girl! What a woman! What a person! What a child of God!
That is what a human being can become if he or she fights doubts and becomes a believer. Such persons expect miracles and make miracles happen.

Truth in Thinking: Expect a Miracle- Part three, Miracles never stop....

Expect a Miracle- Part three, Miracles never stop.

The wind was whistling, the rain beating down with great force upon them, the sky dark. Roy shouted through the storm, "Alicia, we're all going to die! The end is near!" she shouted back, "I tell you are not going to die! The end is not near! God is with us, the God of miracles!" "Alicia it'llbe a miracle if we ever get through of this."  "Okay, Roy, expect a miracle-let's make miracles happen!" They clung desperately to the swaying branches/  The storm rose in intensity. Then Alicia began to sing, sending her confident voice out against that hurricane:
          "Jesus, lover of my soul,
Let me to Thy bosom fly,
            While the nearest waters roll
While the tempest still is high!

Hide me, o my Savior, hide,
             Till the storm of life past;
            Safe into the haven guide,
O receive my soul at last

             Other refuge have I none;
             Hangs my helpless soul on thee;
Leave, O leave me not alone,
             Still support and comfort me."
The storm was over.

Truth in Thinking: Expect a Miracle-Part 2

Truth in Thinking: Expect a Miracle-Part 2: " Alicia watched the wind as it whipped up the dust around her little house. She looked as the sky with appraising ey..."

Expect a Miracle-Part 2

Alicia watched the wind as it whipped up the dust around her little house. She looked as the sky with appraising eyes. Then suddenly the wind increased in intensity, lifting the roof off her house like cardboard. Suddenly a nine-foot dam gave way and water swept up to the house. The family was in imminent peril of death.
Alicia grabbed her daughter, not quite two two years old, while Roy reached for their two sons, five and three years old, and they looked around for a place of refuge. All they could see in that instant of the mounting waters was an old, gnarled, bent tree which had lived out many a storm. But the question was, would it live out this storm?
They ran to the tree, but in the slippery mud the five-year-old dropped from Roys' arms and disappeared for a moment. Balancing the other boy in one arm, Roy finally pulled his son from the watery muck. They reached the tree and carrying the children, Alicia and Roy climed into the high branches. The waters continued to mount until they were at Alicia's neck. She held her little girl, Kim, higher than her head to assure that she would be out of reach of the waters.

Truth in Thinking: Expect a Miracle

Truth in Thinking: Expect a Miracle: " Expect great things from God and you will receive great things from God. This is the basic principle kno..."

Expect a Miracle

Expect great things from God and you will receive great things from God.  This is the basic principle known as the miracle principle. And those who live on the miracle principle have miracles popping up in their lives constantly.
How then, can one go about expecting miracles and causing miracles to happen? The No.1 thing is to have a tremendous faith, a deep faith, a faith that is so positively strong that it rises about doubt. Doubt is always getting in the way of faith. But if you train yourself to have faith in depth, it will release an astonishing power in your life to produce miracles. There is a certain type of person in this world known as the believer.
He/She sweeps everything before him/her. He/she seems to take hold of life with a profound authority.
The question is, how deep is your faith? Get it deep and you can face any difficulity and conquer it. One of my favorite stories is about a tremendous personality, a woman from Virginia named Alicia. She and her husband Roy and their three children lived near the shores of Va.Beach. One hot sultry day a hurricane swept up out of the blue. It slashed into the shore line with destructive force and proceeded in ward, leaving death and destruction in its wake.

Truth in Thinking: Do a Power Lunch

Truth in Thinking: Do a Power Lunch: " &n..."

Do a Power Lunch

                                                             Power Pudding
If you need a concentrated fiber supplement to maintain softer, more frequent bowel movements, try Power Pudding.

3 1/4 cups cooked prunes
2 cups apple juice
2 cups prune juice
1 cup bran
Puree the ingredients and refrigerate the mixture.  Start with a two- or three- ounce serving three to seven days a week.  "Adjust the amount and frequency to achieve a normal stool pattern".
Some people gain weight eating this rich mixture, and the large amount of sugar may cause difficulty for some diabetics.  But for those who can handle the extra sugar, this can be good medicine.  It has been proven especially effective with constipated elderly people who are housebound.
