June 25th,2010 Friday

The heat has been bearing down for the last three days. Thoday being the coolest at 95. I watered my gardens at 6:45a.m.. As I did I listened to all kinds of birds singing. Its not as easy as some think to grow a beautiful garden, weeds just seem to move in so fast, trying with all of their might to choke the life out of what is trying so hard to surivive. Just as when I was a child. My job was to follow MOM along the newly formed garden rows to pat, pat, pat a bit of soil over the seeds she gently placed into the straight, shallow line formed by the garden hoe. Pat,pat, pat. I followed along, gantly and carefully covering up the seeds to protect them from harm. I tokk my job seriously, and I enjoyed it immensely. As I am learning to do all over again , everyday in my own garden. Linda G..

June 23rd,2010 Wednesday

My corn is almost as high as the top of my head, and so beautiful. The bright green leaves, stalks shooting up to the heavens. No wonder I enjoy watering twice a day. My tomatoe plants are already bearing small fruit. Do you remember your first garden? I do. Even now. The memory so vivid in my mind that I can almost smell the early Spring flowers in bloom. I was just a child as I followed my father and mother into the freshly tilled garden.

Poem

People plant gardens for a variety of reasons. Some plant because they depend on the produce a garden provides. Other people garden because they enjoy the beauty of the flowers and shrubs in bloom. Exercise. Relaxation. Reasons for gardening might fill a wheelbarrow. But always, theres a reason why the garden is planted. And the reason often gives us insight into the gardener's character.

The Truth

About one year ago (12-15-2009) by this time in the morning I would probably be one my 6th beer. With all day to go. But now I am working on a mailbox cover, and the squares for a quilt I am attempting to piece together. Earlier I was wondering, as a child did anyone ever ask me what I wanted to be when I grow up or did I think of it on my own? I truley don't remember. Do you remember that very thing about yourself? Please take a few minutes to say. Did life turn out like you thought it would? Do you feel as if you are where you are for a good positive reason? It would be a Blessing to me and others if you would take time to write and let everyone know exactly what you think about thoughtout your day. LindaG.
